Military Cruise Deal
Question: Is there a credible military option for dealing with Iran? With 200,000 US troops in the region, based in relatively fixed locations, Iran has the means and will to kill a good portion of those soldiers if the US decides to attack.
In many respect the troops in Iraq, the Gulf and Afghanistan are sitting ducks if the neocon hawks have their way.
Iran's inventory of ballistic and cruise missiles, its Quds and special forces and other capabilities could create a bloodbath for the US in the region.
Yet Fox News "analysts" are saying how "easy" a strike on Iran would be, just like the Saddam War was a "cakewalk".
Bush can't have his cake and eat it: He has to choose between stabilising Iraq and Afghanistan or taking on Iran: he can't have it both ways.
Look, if the US had no troops in the region I agree that an airstrike would be relatively harm-free: But Iran is killing US soldiers in Iraq ( by proxy) and WILL KILL MANY MORE if you bomb them.
Airstrikes have also been proved to be ineffective: In the last few wars, it is astonishing how little effect airstrikes have had: It was only when the ground troops went in did the real damage begin.
Iran is a country that has shown a willingness to fight , unlike Baathist Iraq: In Operation Praying Mantis in 1988, though completely outgunned, the Iranians were not afraid to take on the mighty US Navy: This time, they have a much bigger and better force and they are not distracted with another front.
Iraq's army folded: I can guarantee that Iran would have to be nuked to stop it...and then we are in a WW3 scenario.

Answer: They are all highly educated, very experienced, and knowledgeable. They also all believe that the Official 9/11 Commission's Report is not addressing too many legitimate questions to be considered a legitimate endeavor and that "WE the People" deserve better. Like the truth, but that just isn't going to happen unless our Congress puts the interests of the people before the interests of the large media lobbyists and the people who probably have a little "dirt" on each member and could hypothetically be holding it over their heads as a threat to remain complacent or else.
Question: cruise to mexico? Doe anybody know where can i find the best deal for Mexico Cruise departing from California. If possible with military discount.
Answer: Vacationstogo.com. They have a column of possible discounts down the left side of their website.
Question: Booking a Mediterranean cruise. Need help? I'm looking to book a cruise in the Mediterranean but I'm feeling a bit lost at the moment. Normally I reside in Colorado but at the moment I'm living in London for a term doing Uni. I've tried doing some searches online for cruises and I find that since I'm accessing the internet from the UK I'm automatically given primarily UK website (this is for obvious reasons but a bit troublesome when trying to search US sites) but I've run across a few American based websites that price the exact same cruises but once you do the currency conversion between the two listed prices, booking a cruise over here seems to be a fair bit more expensive.
I'd really like suggestions either for a US based website that I can actually access from here or a travel agent that thinks they might be able get me a better deal than what I've been able to find online.
Ideally what I've been trying to find is a Mediterranean cruise that is 11+ nights and departs no sooner than the evening of 27 March (if leaving from Southampton) or the 28th if departing anywhere else. Because I'm here doing an internship with a Uni I have to be back in London by 25 April.
I've managed to find a cruise that fits this for 12 days and runs about £700 but I'd really like to find out if something can be booked cheaper through a US site or agent. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated since I'd like to find the best deal possible.
As a side note - I realize the price I mentioned above is a per person rate and there will be a 2nd traveler with me. Also, I'm a military spouse of an active duty soldier and wondering about any military discounts that a cruise line might provide. Thanks in advance!
Well, mind you, I did say it was in pounds (£) not dollars ($) but 700 quid is about $950US. But anyhow, the cruise I was looking at was from Royal Caribbean, leaving on April 13th. The other I was looking at was about $100 more and was MSC cruise line leaving on April 7th.
Answer: I have done two Mediterranean cruises and have another booked now. These are the cruise line web sites that I have used and/or the ones that you should look at for US rates.

I have cruised the Med on Norwegian and Royal Caribbean, both good cruise lines.
Since you are looking at a cruise within the next month or so you will pay a higher price. Cruise lines gives the best rates for early bookings that are a year or more in advance. Then the price starts to go up and the cabin selections start to go down. That's my experience with more than 20 cruises. In addition, your price will be affected by the rather narrow window you have. The prices of cruises can vary for the exact same cruise from week to week by hundreds of dollars. The time slot you are working with is close to and/or includes Easter and thus the prices may be higher.
at any rate, try the web sites I have given to see if there are better options. Begin your search by searching for cruises to Europe and then select the departure port(s) you want.

Answer: Nice cut-and-paste. Which forum did you swipe that from?
That's what I think after reading this.
Question: Have you ever been on a cruise? Where did you go and what cruiseline? My husband and I are planning on taking a cruise when we both graduate in the summer of 2010.
We both want to visit a few different places, islands, whatever!
Does anyone have any experience or answers as to what cruiselines have the best deals and what part of the ocean is best to see.
Is the carribean nice? The bahamas? etc.
My husband has been tons of places because he was in the military but I have barely been anywhere! Secluded or popular...it doesnt matter. Just, if you have been on a cruise tell me where you went and on what cruiseline.
Thanks in advance!
OHH! We dont have anykids and dont plan to have any at the time so accomdating to kids isnt a necessity.
Answer: My boyfriend and I have been on the Carnival Legend for 7 days and loved every second of it! It went to Cozumel, Isla Roatan Honduras, Belize, and Grand Cayman. The islands and Caribbean are beautiful. Carnival itself was unbelievable too. You are going to have an amazing time wherever you go, but I would seriously consider Carnival as they cater to married couples and younger crowds who want to get away and have a great time. There is always something to do and you will not want to leave!
We booked through cruisesonly.com and got a really great deal and their prices are very competative.
Bon Voyage!
Question: Do Multi-National companies like Halliburton have any ethics ? Will they make a "deal with the devil", if they can make a profit ? Like his father & gradfather Prescott Bush, are George W Bush's closest advisors closely bound to the Oil and Arms industries ? Karl Rove, one of Bush's closest political advisors, was a shareholder in Boeing, many of whose activities are in the military field. Boeing makes Apache helicopters, guided missiles, & Tomohawk Cruise Missiles. Paul Wolfowitz, who has been number two in the Pentagon, charged consultancy fees from Northrop Grumman ( who make makes B-2 Stealth bomber, which costs $2 billion per plane & F-18 fighter bombers presently used massively in Iraq ) before joining the administration. Donald Rumsfeld and Colin Powell were both were directors of Gulf Stream Aerospace. They left the companies with the "golden good-byes" of one million dollars. Donald Rumsfeld sat on the board of ABB, a company that sold nuclear reactors to North Korea. In 2 yrs , Northrup Grumman, increased sales by 60%, Boeing by 30%
Answer: Ethics are based on how much you can get away with..
Question: Just Curious...? I'm just curious if there's anyone out there with a friend or family memeber in the Navy, whose out on cruise. Or who's just deployed in any military branch. How do you deal w/ them being gone? My husand's out on the Lincoln.
Answer: I cannot even imagine how that would be.
Thank him for me for making this sacrifice for my freedom. And my prayers are with both of you.

In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the Snooze Button once more.
Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the Snooze Button once more.
Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continue s her slumber.
The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.
Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.
Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rhein-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked.
Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro, is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed.
The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA F light 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4 and the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in1988 , killing 259.
Clinton treated these terrorist acts as crimes; in fact we are still trying to bring these people to trial. These are acts of war.
The wake up alarm is getting louder and louder.
The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia. The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City. Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war? The Snooze alarm is depressed again.
Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.
A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US A ir Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively.
They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania.. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.
The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000, when a small craft pulled along side the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.
And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America. How wrong they are. America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.
In the news lately we hav e seen lots of finger pointing from every high officials in government over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.
I think we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to "Get out of Bed" and act decisively now. America has been changed forever.. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said "... it seems all we have done is awaken a sleeping giant." This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world. This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year - this is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come.
Whats a matter Can't handle the Truth?
Answer: You're absolutely right. What happened on September 11th 2001 has really upset the midle eastern community. Why, well because that giant is rolling over and getting out of bed now, and they don't like it. It's like that kids on the playground that always picked and picked. Then, when he finally got his **** kicked, he went screaming to the teacher about the big bully that beat him up. I know we are taking a lot of crap internationally, and we always will. But, we cannot allow this crap to go unchecked any longer.
Seems the whole nation was ready to stomp out terrorism after 911. Now, it's not fashionable any more. The flags are getting harder and harder to see when out driving, and the attitudes are terrible. I think people may have misunderstood this President when he said he would not stop until terrorism was stamped out. I think people forget that he said he was going after anyone, or any country that commits terrorist acts against any americans, or countries that harbor terrorists.
People sure seem to have short memories when the heat gets a little intense. Not me. I remember. And, thanks for posting that information for those who don't remember the plane that was hijacked, and the American citizens held hostage. And, for reminding people about some of the other terrorist acts committed against us with no provocation.
