Cruise Line
Question: Cruise Line? I need help choosing a cruise line that will take me to the Mauritius or an airline thats under 9,000.
Any help will be Appreciated.
Answer: there are lots of web sites that you can look at and are we talking $9000 or £9000 there are lots of travel agents that may be able to help alternatively if you know where you want to stay contact the vendor directly and book the whole thing yourself over the internet.
Question: What is the best cruise line for two young adults (23 years old)? I am planning on taking a Caribbean cruise with my boyfriend sometime next year. Which cruise line is the most youth-friendly? We are both in our early 20's, and don't want to be stuck on a boat with a bunch of kids and families or older people.
Also, which cruise route do you recommend. I want to go on a Caribbean cruise, not a cruise to Mexico. I've already been to Mexico, and would like to go somewhere different.
Answer: A Caribbean cruise is great, depending on where you would like to go. Eastern Caribbean are usually 7 nights and they usually include St. Thomas, St. Marteen, and Nassau, or the cruiselines private island. A Western Caribbean cruise usually includes Jamaica, Cozumel Mexico, Key West, Progresso Mexico, Belize etc.. this also depends on which line you choose to go with. A Southern Caribbean includes San Juan, Aruba, Barbados, and most of the deep southern islands, but this one usually goes out of San Juan, so you would have to plan on flying to the cruiseport.
If you are looking for a cruiseline that is "Youth" friendly then most of them will have families and children on them, unless you book during off season when school is in session, but there will always be children on the ships, just not as many.
The most active cruiselines for your age group would be Royal Caribbean, Carnival and NCL. You will find more older adults on Celebrity and Holland America, but there are pretty much all ages on most of the mainstream lines.
I would suggest that you look at the three mainstream lines websites: www.ncl.com , www.carnival.com, and www.royalcarbbean.com to get an idea of what itineraries are offered and what length of cruise is offered. Either that or contact a cruise specialist agent to ask these questions. They are trained in all the different lines and will be best able to qualify you to the best line based on your answers to questions they will ask.
My recommendation:
Royal Caribbean offers many things on the ship for all age groups. They have the rock climbing walls, the newest ships have the flow rider, there is also mini golf, pools, games etc.
Carnival offers quite a bit of activities for your age group, and if you are planning on a 3 or 4 night cruise, you will find more people your age on the ship...remember they were once known as the "party" ship. But they are catering more to families now..but again, book in off season (not summer, spring break or Christmas time) and you will find less children on the ship.
NCL offers a bowling ally on their newer ships, along with a variety of other activites to participate in, there are plenty of activities for your age group.
Also, the cruiseline you decide on would be dependant on how much money you want to invest in your cruise.
Good luck in your choices.
Question: What is the best cruise line to take a cruse for a married couple 27 yrs old? Me and my husband want to plan a trip and want to hear from people about good experiences on certain cruse line. We want to go on a 7day cruise that is pretty decently priced, has clean rooms and good food, and all inclusive pkg? Please give reccomendations please!
Answer: I have been on about 20 cruises and on Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, and Royal Caribbean ships and can vouch that they are good cruise lines for people your age. However, there are some differences among these and other cruise lines.
Regardless of which cruise line you select, the things that are included are pretty much the same. The price of your cruise includes your cabin, all meals (including breakfast, lunch dinner, snacks and free room service)(you do pay to eat in the specialty restaurants), all shows and entertainment, and free use of all facilities on ship. Other than that you pay your gratuities ($10 a day per person) and for drinks. its the same on all of these cruise lines. You also have to pay if you want SPA services like massages, wraps, or hair done.
- Princess, and Celebrity have great ships are more classy and reserved than the other cruise lines. If you want a better cruise experience for your money go on one of these cruise lines. The difference in cost of these two over the others is not that much.
- Holland America has more senior citizens cruising on its ships. It has great ships and service but the majority of the passengers will be about twice your age, and more. You may want to rule them out.
-Carnival is the budget cruise line that has more first time cruiser and young people (20 to 35 age group) who want to party, party, party. If that is what you are looking for then Carnival is the cruise line for you. Carnival is family oriented to an extent and will also have a good number of kids and also some older passengers.
-Norwegian cruise line is good and I have been on many of their cruises. Its the line that you want to go on if you want to be informal for pretty much your whole cruise. They have formal nights like other cruise lines but they do not stress dressing up; the call it "dress up if you want to" night. In my experience their passengers tend to be a mixture of young and middle aged people.
-Royal Caribbean caters most to families and has the most and best on-board activities. Many Royal Caribbean ships have things like ice skating, roller blade track, rock climbing wall, mini-golf course, full sized basketball courts, and adults only pool and hot tub area called 'Solarium", surfing on ship on the "Flowrider", pool tables. You cannot go wrong with RC.
There are some things that you need to know about cruises to help you decide on one. First, you should know that all of the cruise lines give the best price for early bookings that are a year or more in advance. Cruise lines also list specials on their web sites so do look for those. The specials can many times save you a couple hundred per person over the price for the exact same cruise on a different date.
Second you should know that all cruise cabins are sold based on double occupancy and the prices listed will be per person and based on at least two people going on the cruise. The price you pay will depend mostly on the type accommodations that you choose. There are 4 basic types of cabins on ships;
- inside (no window),
- outside (a window or porthole),
- balcony/veranda, and
- suites.
Royal Caribbean has some inside cabins on its Freedom and Voyager Class of ships that have a window overlooking an inside promenade mall.
The "FROM" prices you see will always be for an inside cabin. There are also some subcategories within each category with cabins on a higher deck, and/or a better location on ship (like midship), and/or that are slightly larger costing more. So as you browse, pay attention to the square footage of the cabins. You may not want to pay more for the same sized cabin on a higher floor; or vice versa do pay less for the same cabin on a lower deck.
You also need to know that you have more cruise options, better and newer ships, and generally slightly lower prices from Florida ports such as Miami, Ft Lauderdale, and Port Canaveral.
I have listed below the web sites for the medium priced cruise lines which operate from US ports. These are the cruise lines that most people use. There are some luxury lines that are much higher priced with prices starting around $4,000 for a 7 day cruise. The lines that I have listed below will have cruises starting in the range of $800 to $1,000 per person for a 7 day cruise, again depending upon the date and type cabin you select.
You can reserve a cruise on line, by calling the cruise line, or through a travel agent by paying the minimum deposit which will be between $250 and $350 per person for a 7 day cruise, depending upon the cruise line. The minimum will be more for a longer cruise, for example $450 per person for a 14 day cruise. The balance will be due approximately 60 days before the cruise departure date. But you can make periodic payment on line or with the cruise line. I have reserved on line and made payments many times.

In my opinion Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and Celebrity have the easiest web sites to use to find cruises and specials. You need to decide whether you want a relaxed cruise with lounging around most of the time, or a cruise with lots of activities while on the ship as well as in port stops. If you want more activities go with Royal Caribbean, or secondly Carnival. But if you want relax the go with Celebrity, Princess or Norwegian. My recommendation that you select a cruise on Celebrity, Princess, Royal Caribbean, or Carnival, pretty much in that order.
Question: What cruise line would be the best to take two 15 months old twins on? We want to take a cruise in Feburary what cruise line would be a good one? Also, do people take their kids/babies along???
I have never been on a cruise before
Answer: All cruise lines have ships which are child friendly the most popular ones are Disney, Carnival and Princess Cruises
Question: What Cruise line should my family go on? Im looking for a cruise to go on during a break. Can you help me decide which cruise line is the best for us?
Answer: Carnival was extremely fun!! Give it a try, you won't regret it!
Question: Does anyone have a good recommendation for a cruise line? My best friend her fiance, me and my fiance are planning to go on a cruise to the Bahamas. Has anyone had any experiences (good or bad) with any particular cruise line.
Answer: Yes been there and it is nice, but Nassau is n to my first choice, you may want to consider Cozumel Mexico too for a first cruise as it is nicer and has great shopping and I loved the Mayan ruins and the beaches
we use Carnival and they are wonderful, the shows and food are awesome, and the service will spoil you
Question: What would happen to the cruise line demand if the economy is strong? If the economy is weak? What would happen to the cruise line demand if the economy is strong? If the economy is weak?
Answer: At this time, the number of people signing on to cruises has decreased significantly. My take on the effect of the current economic slump is illustrated by the mortgage foreclosures, the cutbacks being made by many large companies, and the increases in cost of all areas of the basic necessities is alarming. It is imperative for our population to make adjustments to their former priorities. Families can gather and verbalize what they are willing to change in their recent lifestyle that will contribute to the formation of a fiscal plan that will provide the reality of stable security.
Question: What are the positives and negatives of going on a cruise in the Caribbean, and what cruise line is good? Next spring time I am planning to go on a cruise in the Caribbean. What is there to do? I am wondering if it may be boring or I wont like it. From someone who has been on a cruise or heard about them, how was it like and what is a good cruise line to go on?
Answer: I thought the same thing before I went on my first cruise, but it was a "family reunion", so I "had" to go. Wow, was I surprised! I loved it and now I'm hooked!
You will only be bored if you need to be entertained 24/7 and don't know how to relax. There are numerous activities going on at all times of the day, everything from trivia games, art auctions, bingo, crazy pool games, wine tastings, to disco, karaoke, production shows, etc. You won't have enough time to do them all.
Pros: you meet lots of interesting people, you get to try many different types of food you might not otherwise try, you get to see new places and only have to unpack once...and on and on.
Cons: You don't get to spend too much time in any one port, you may gain weight because it's very hard to resist the great food, you might get seasick - I'm sure there are more, but not many!
I suggest you get a book on cruising from your library, to give you an overview of what it's like. You can also go to a website like CruiseCritic.com, click on "Boards" and/or "Reviews" and read what others think about cruising - it has more info than you could ever need.
For a first cruise, depending on your age/interests, I'd suggest you try Carnival, and a trip of at least seven days. In Spring you need to plan around Spring Break/Easter/President's Week, etc to either avoid or join crowds of kids.
Good luck and have fun with your research. I hope you find just the right cruise - but beware that you just might get hooked, too!
Question: What is your favorite cruise line for families? Which cruise line did your family have the most fun, best food, and enjoy the best destinations? We have a family of six, love cruising and want to plan another next year.
Answer: Disney is the best for kids and adults. The disney cruise provides u with pagers, so u can chat with ur kids anytime. If they are too young to be on thier own the councelers (they have clubs for different age groups) will take care of them. The cruise is elegant and beautiful, and the food is amazing ( and so are the servers). They also have amazing destinations, such as Panama. The spa for adults is sooooo relaxing, and they have a resturant just for adults
Question: In your experience, what is the best cruise line? I have cruised on Carnival twice and am planning on going on a cruise for my honeymoon. Which line do you recommend?
Answer: Royal Caribbean, by far!! I've been on their ships 6 times and they are my favorite in every way. I have never been bored, the staff is great, the ships are beautiful, and the overall vibe is pretty positive. I refuse to cruise with other companies.
