Small Cruise Line
Question: What small cruise line was this (featured in a magazine)? The cruise line was fetured in a magazine earlier this year. The author went on a small ship through Germany. I think there was something aout accordians in it, too.
This is really vague... I can't even remember the magzine. Sorry...
Answer: Sounds like you may be thinking of Aida, but I am not sure. I know that they are geared toward the German cruise industry.
Question: What is the best cruise line for Alaska, prefer a small cruise ship?

Question: What is the best cruise line for a small group of friends to take? My girlfriends and I are turning 30 this year and we want to celebrate! Half a week trip, inexpensive, sometime in July.
Answer: The most inexpensive line will be Carnival. This is a nice cruise line for the price. But you if you can spend a little more I would go with Norweigan or Royal Caribbean. They aren't too much higher in price, but the quality is much better. Really, all cruises are great. It just depends on what you are used to and what you are looking for. You will have lots of different options of where you want to go, so again, it depends on what you are looking for.
July is really close. You should be booking this as soon as possible before availability is gone and prices are really high. Most cruise lines will increase price the closer it comes to sail date. But sometimes they will release last minute availability at a really low price. But if you aren't flexibile with dates, you probably won't want to do this. Also, air will be a lot higher because you are so close to sailing and you won't have a lot of options as far as line, room and destination.
One other thing. My travel agent will usually have a group rate available for the cruises I take. If you have a small group, only a few rooms, more than likely you won't qualify for a group discount for just your party. Also, because you are so close to the sail date, it is likely that they won't be offering group rates this close anyhow. But, if your travel agent has some group rates available (meaning they bought a lot of rooms when it first opened to get a lower rate) then you would be able save money this way.
Hope this helps
Question: What is the best up-scale small ship cruise line?
Answer: There are three that are the best up-scale small ship cruise lines. There is silverseas, SeaDream, and SeaBourn. They are all luxury cruises and are all-inclusive. Silverseas also lets you design your own cruise. All of them are able to visit unique destinations because they can fit there ships into some ports the mega-liners can not get into to
Question: What's a cheap and fun cruise line to travel on? We'd go last week of may or first week of june. Any small cruise lines that are good.
Answer: Carnival is usually the cheapest
Question: What are all the benefits a cruise line gains by registering cruise ships in small or insignificant countries? Most of our cruise ships are registered in countries like Bermuda or Nigeria, etc. Does this make them exempt from U.S. laws and taxes? How about benefits, etc.?
Answer: One of the main benefits is taxation.
The operations and income associated with Bahamas Flag vessels are entirely tax-free, as are capital gains on the sale of vessels. Foreign-owned vessels of more than 150 GRT are also exempt from Bahamas customs duties and documentary stamp taxes, whether they call at local ports or not.
and another benefit is legal liability
Many cruise lines have chosen to incorporate their base in countries where the laws are less strict than in the United States.
Tickets normally state that all passenger lawsuits be brought to the local court where the cruise line is headquartered. You can be in U.S waters, but if the ship is registered in Panama, Panama has jurisdiction in the event of legal problems, or you file a civil lawsuit.
Question: I'm considering taking a cruise, does anyone know a good cruise line for smaller ships ? What is a good cruise line that has smaller ships, and what are some good cruises to take, Alaska, Ireland, Bahammas, etc. ?
Answer: We are taking a cruise to Ensenada next month...going on the Paradise, a Carnival Cruise Lines ship...I hear they are one of the better Cruise Lines for having fun...and all inclusive! We can't wait...four of us taking the cruise together! As for where to go, that's up to you; we've had friends go to Alaska and the Bahamas, one's cool and ones hot...just depends on what you like. Have fun where ever you go! ;)
Question: For those who've had the experience, which small-ship cruise line offers the best Alaskan trip, 7 or more days
Answer: princess cruises has some small ships going to alaska- regal princess and the sun or dawn princess or norwegian cruise line's norwegian wind/dream
Question: what has been the best cruise line that you have sailed with? looking to take a small cruise somewhere hot for a short vacation. Any good experiences would help me choose, never cruised before looking forward to it.
Answer: I'm 24 I've cruised on Princess, Royal Caribbean, Carnival, and NCL “Norwegian”.
Carnival has been my favorite cruise line I’ve been on period. Went on 3 cruises with Carnival, all to the Caribbean, and I enjoyed every minute of each cruise. The bars on the boat stay open past 2:00am so long as there are people drinking at them. I stayed up to almost 4AM in the morning drinking at one of the bars with a bunch of friends. All the staff is amazing and very friendly, the entertainment is nonstop and aimed at the party goers and newlyweds, and most importantly the atmosphere on the ship is very party oriented and everyone is having a ball. It’s very easy to meet people and have conversations. There have always been very few older travelers on the ship and almost no children. If you’re a partier Carnival is for you. (DO NOT GO ON CHRISTMAS all they play is Christmas music 24/7 the entire time your on the cruise) Also if your under the age of 21 you need to find someone who is 25 or older to room with you; they won’t let you stay in a room by yourself if you’re under the age of 21. The downside to this cruise is if you want to get off the cruise and go see the sights often I found myself with a hang over that would have killed a normal person. It made going out into town or on an excursion a lot less fun than it should have been. I’ve found that this boat is too party oriented if partying ISN’T your only goal.
Princess was also a great cruise line; I only went once on them and got sick for most of the cruise. When I wasn’t sick the entertainment was great and there seemed like a pretty fun party atmosphere just waiting to burst through. More of the older generation and there were more kids on the boat. Aside from that I spent to much time in my cabin to give a good description.
Royal Caribbean, I’ve been on twice and actually have another cruise planned in March. I went to the Bahamas both times on Royal and enjoyed the ship a lot. It had a decent party atmosphere but, it seems when 10:00pm rolls around it flat out disappears unless you’re in the Casino. The bars close around Midnight which is very odd and every woman acts as if you’re trying to rape them when ever you try and strike up a conversation. (I’m not bad looking either) It’s been like that on both the cruises I did with Royal. I’m hoping its some weird Christmas time thing that goes on and it’s not like that in March. There were more young teens that go on this cruise line as well as older folks, but I’ve set to see an actual child. The entertainment on the boat is great days and flat out boring others. One night I found myself in bed by 8Pm, I was just that bored and tired from the excursion. However the reason this cruise line remains my favorite and why I’ve become a repeat customer is the service on the ship is amazing, the food is absolutely amazing, the bar tenders and waiters will go out of their way to be friends with you be friendly (They are also not afraid to break the rules to get a laugh or make your stay more enjoyable). Even though the party ends sooner and the bars close up shop, it gives you reason to go to bed before 4AM and I need to tell you snorkeling hung over after only 5 hours of sleep isn’t fun. All in all this cruise line really makes my vacation as a whole a lot more fun. They don’t over do on any one area and really cater to everyone.
While Carnival is my favorite Royal is a lot easier on my wallet and I tend to go with them now.
As for NCL, Don’t do it. It’s not for the younger generation.
Question: What is the best cruise line for the 40-50 age group with minimum number of small children?
Answer: Celebrity and Oceania are pretty good for this type of travel. Oceania, Princess, and Holland America are also good.
You may also consider a smaller ship from a company like Wind Star, these are great as well.
Look for ships that don't have many activities for young children. You may also want to look and see if they have a section for people traveling with kids, if you don't find this you can pretty much bet that there won't be many children on board. Just stay away from ships like Carnival. This cruise line caters to younger families, so you will see lots of kids.
Disney is also an option. Though Disney is great for kids, the activities keep them occupied all day. So while there will be kids on board, you won't see them as often as you would think. The price for Disney is pretty nominal as well. The food is great, the shows are spectacular and the service is unbelieveable.
Hope this helps
