Cruise Air Packages
Question: I am looking for cruise/air. packages. Can you suggest a web site?
Answer: Just got back from Jamaica and someone there suggested TripAuction.com which she said was a bargain finding paradise. Another website I LOVED is TripAdvisor.com which I will never book a trip again without. Invaluable advice! It gives trip reports from those who have been there and also includes a forum section where you can ask questions and get answers.
Question: Buying a new car, I live in Canada (short summers); Would you pay an extra $2500 just for Air Conditioning? I'm planning on buying a new Toyota Matrix : I want Automatic and Cruise Control: (Base + Automatic + Cruise control = $18,500). Unfortunately Air Conditioning is not an available option that can be added separately to the base model.
If I want to get Air Conditioning, It will cost an extra $2500 (Base +Automatic +Package B = $21,000). The problem is that this includes Alloy Wheels, something that gets EATEN up by the salty roads found in Ontario during the winters.
I don't need the Power windows, Power Locks, Power mirrors found in the Package, and I prefer the salt-proof steel wheels of the base model.
What is your opinion: COULD you live with a Car in Ontario, that did not have Air Conditioning? Or would you suggest that I spend the extra $2,500 and get AC just for the 3 or 4 days per summer that it would come in handy?
I live in Kitchener Ontario, that's in Southern Ontario. I currently have A 1999 Toyota Corolla with A/C and I almost never use it during the summer. I prefer to just crank open the windows.
On times that I do use the A/C, I feel that I'm catching a cold or something. It makes my nose run.
That's another thing: I prefer crank windows so that I can open and close them without having to use a key in the ignition for the power windows.
Answer: I think that I would get the A/C option. Here's why. The A/C does more than just cool the air, it dehumidifies. So, on those cold, wet days your windows would fog up on the inside and make driving miserable, not to mention the moisture collecting on the killer sound system you will install next month.
The resale value will be much more also. Well, perhaps just more and not much more. But it will definitely help.
And who says that you wont be moving to south Florida in 4 years? You have no idea about that and it sure would be nice then. Or if you didn't move, what about a trip to somewhere hot?
You can resell the alloy wheels, get the steel wheels, and apply the difference to the payments.
Have you looked at Pontiac Vibe? The same car, different options.
Question: Sea Travel to Puerto Rico? Some time ago I heard that one can travel by cruise ship (instead of going by air) to Puerto Rico without having to pay for a full cruise package, but I can't find any information about it. Has anyone else heard about this?
Answer: I have never heard of that. You can take a repositioning cruise if you only want to go one way or if you want to stay longer than the other cruises stop for. But as far as I now you have to pay full price.
Question: Which tour should I go on in San Diego? I have 2 options to choose from.? These are 2 of the tours I would like to choose from in my cruise package.
San Diego & La Jolla Highlights-4 hrs
Board a motor coach and visit Del Coronado Hotel then off to La Jolla and here you will have free time to explore the many boutiques. After a short drive to Mt. Soledad, head for the Old Town historic district where you will pass through museum-rich Balboa Park. You may be dropped off at Hortons Plaza, the Art Deco Shopping Mall.
Old Town Trolley Tour Of San Diego 2 hrs 30 min
Board a themed, open-air trolley and pass by the Midway Aircraft Carrier Museum, Seaport Village, the Convention Center and Horton Plaza. Experience the historic “Gaslamp Quarter” en route to the Coronado Bay Bridge with its view of the city. Once on Coronado Island, learn about the unique history of Hotel Del Coronado. Pass through Balboa Park and Old Town State Historic Park. Option of being dropped off at Hortons or Art Deco.
Answer: The second one, do that one! The first is more shopping oriented and you would be enclosed on a bus with considerable driving time to La Jolla. An open-air trolley would allow you to better enjoy the sunny and warm climate of one of the most beautiful cities and best climates to visit.
The Midway appears huge and wondrous as it sits right by the road you will pass by on. Seaport Village is right on the bay, it is very green and quaint with it's Mediterranean stley architecture, and it even has an antique carousel you can ride on. The Gaslamp quarter is also very historic and lively, that would be the place to visit for nightlife, if you have the time later. The Coronado Bay Bridge is fun to ride over as it rises up in an arc and curves over and around the bay to Coronado. It is very high up to allow for the passing of Naval ships and has great and panoramic views looking north and south over the bay! Hotel del Coronado is truely unique and is the largest solely wooden structure in the United States. Then, the opportunity to see balboa Park AND Old Town San Diego, while being dropped off at Hortons Plaza where then you could party the night away in the Gaslamp District, that is the icing on the cake!
If you choose to go through Coronado, let me know by email at my profile, and you could give me a call when driving by.
Have A Great Time!

If i wanted to travel from london to say greece, it would take about 3 hours by plane, but apart from the fact that no ferry goes to greece unless you want to cruise, it would probable take a few days, but which would be the more eco freindly way to go?And would it be somthing to companys should consider in the furture for package holidays much the same as the airlines?
Answer: we took a carribean cruise aboard one of those great big super cruise ships. On the tour they told us that the ship burns 18,000 gallons of fuel PER MILE!!! and you thought SUVs were bad!!

Question: Which type of travel insurance do I need?? I am going on a cruise in June and have purchased the air and cruise separate. The thing is that we are leaving out of NY @ 6am and arriving in Miami @ 1130am the day we have to leave for the cruise. (cannot reschedule the date we fly in) The ship leaves @4pm. With all the recent delays and cancellations of air carriers I am becoming a bit worried about 1.)trip delay that wld cause me to miss the cruise 2.) delayed or lost luggage due to a 2nd plane connection.
I would like to know if there is a specific travel insurance package that I can choose for the above. I have done some research and found that many state they will cover only if the delay is due to weather but what about if the carrier just decided to delay or cancel? Will they pay for my entire cruise if missed?
Answer: You can use any travel insurance that covers for trip cancellation and interruption. I use TravelEx and I have been travelling for more than 15 years.
http://www.travelex-insurance.com/index....
I've made a few travel related ( delay ) claims with them over the past several years and they have always been prompt, courteous and swift with their reimbursement. I have not however tested the metal of their medical claims process ( fortunately. )
Have a wonderful trip.

Answer: BMWs are very good cars. They are very gratifying to drive. The mechanical structure and powertrains last forever. When they do have problems, they are expensive to fix and they cost a lot to maintain though.
