Question: How do i find Simon Hack - from the UK - an employee on royal caribbean cruise ship?? He's a casino dealer on the Adventure of the Seas - Royal Caribbean Cruise Line. I met him last week (9/23/07) while I was on vacation. I need to contact him and haven't a clue how. I don't have any information except for his name. I'm from New York , by the way. I think he's from Leeds - not too sure.
Thanks!!!!
Answer: Write to him care of Adventure of the Seas, Royal Caribbean, the letter will reach him, whether he replies is another matter.
A careful employer shouldn't give out the whereabouts of staff, which is why snail mail is recommended.
Question: My family is trying to find a feb. 2009 cruise/vacation spot.? We have decided kind of last minute that we'd like to go somewhere very warm for february break and would like to go on a royal caribbean cruise or vacation to a hot island at an all inclusive resort. I was wondering if anyone can assist me in finding a 7 day cruise to a warm place such as the caribbean leaving from florida or any suggestions as to a nice warm sunny beach island other than labadee, haiti, jamaica, grand caymen, cozumel, st.tomas and st.maarten. i know its a lot to ask but thank you!
Answer: www.vacationstogo.com have full comprehensive listings of all options at discount prices. Very easy to compare and they are very efficient.
Recently returned from NCL cruise booked 3 weeks before departure. Got a junior suite with balcony for $800 per person (no flights included) which was 72% off list!
Question: Can anyone sit with the captain?? How? We are planning our Royal Caribbean cruise vacation. We heard about some people sitting with the captain at dinner??? Our kids would love that and it would be fun to do. I remember someone on here saying that they sat with the captain. How do you go about doing that?? Can anyone or if not how do you? Thanks!
This will be our 4th Royal Caribbean cruise and we are booking in a family suite. Sorry i didn't mention that earlier
Answer: It's not restricted to smaller ships, it has to do with the preference of the captain - some do it, others don't.
People who have cruised many times on RCI will get priority. Being in a suite may help, but that alone won't do it.
When I sat at the captain's table on a recent cruise it was a table for 12 (including the captain) with five couples who had all sailed with RCI many times before.
(I was the 12th person, but my getting the seat had to do with my job at the time; I had interviewed the Hotel Manager earlier in the week and I think it's his assistant who selects people, subject to any requests by the captain himself, of course.)
It's extremely unlikely children would be invited, as they are trying to maximize the # of seats for people who would decide to pay for a cruise again in the future.
So, I wouldn't plan on sitting with the captain. Even so, I'm sure you will still have a great cruise, and your kids will have tons to keep them entertained and happy.
BTW, please consider sharing your pictures / stories of your cruise with us at http://www.cruisesavvy.com/journals (it's free, of course) - or you can check out other people's experiences, but it would be great to have your perspective from a family cruise!
