Question: Would a flight from St. Louis to Maui qualify as a "domestic" flight? I have enough airline miles (american airlines) for a free roundtrip domestic flight...but would Hawaii qualify?
Answer: I would check with your American Airlines, but I believe they usually specify it as domestic (continental US) which does not include Hawaii.
Question: Trip to Maui and Oahu.... where do we stay .. what do we do? My boyfriend and I are planning a trip to Hawaii for our Easter vacation. We are planning on booking our hotels and airlines separately and we are planning on staying in Honolulu for 4 nights and either Wailea or Kahului for 4 nights. We are planning on doing the road to Hana in Maui and also visiting Pearl Harbor among other things in Oahu. We want to make this trip a trip of a lifetime so we are willing to spend the money and do the stuff we want to do. We are looking for guidance in how to plan our trip and what we absolutely we need to do to experience Hawaii...... Thanks for your help with this. We are looking forward to our trip and want to make it the best possible.

Hana - highly recommended
Wailea - expensive
Kahului _ inexpensive ~I recommend Kihei or Napili/Kahana in between price of Kahului & Wailea, if you can afford Wailea go for it! Great Beaches in Wailea/Kihei also Napili-Kaanapali has great beaches.

Question: What to do for a trip of 2 to a Hawaiian Island, limited on money? My boyfriend and I are students on Oahu and are planning on visiting a neighboring island, either Maui or Kauai, for our spring break (5 days). We are limited on money and plan on camping on beaches overnight and hiking trails all morning,
If we go to Maui, we were planning on taking my uncles car using Hawaii Superferry, so that we have transportation, being that we are both under 25 years of age to rent. Cost is approx. 394.77 there and back.
If we go to Kauai, we were going to fly by Hawaiian Airlines, $38/person, but without transportation. We are really interested in doing the Napali Hike in Kauai.
Do you know of any beaches to camp overnight on either islands?
Any options we can do about making a trip to Kauai possible?
Any really good hiking trails to hit up on either islands?
Any tips, words of advice?
Mahalo Nui Loa! =]
Answer: You're taking your chances with the camping plan. Camping is illegal on the beaches. So you have to worry about the police. But - in certain areas, anyway - homeless camp on the beaches. So you gotta worry about the homeless. There are places where camping is legal, but you need a permit. This website has info...
