Hawaii Airline Prices
Question: What is/are the best way(s) to find the best price on airline tickets? I have a friend that wants to come visit me in hawaii from the east coast.
Answer: I download SIDESTEP so I can run it on my computer. It is free and goes out to all the sites (including Expedia, Travelocity, and all the airlines). It then shows all the flights in price order. Their prices for the cheapest usually beat everyone elses. When you click to buy they send you to the site making the offer (like Expedia or American Airlines or whatever) for the actual purchase.
Question: What has been the cheapest price that you paid for airline tickets? I am trying to use Priceline name your own price. I was just wondering if this is true and how cheap any one else has gotten their tickets for. I found tickets for 2 to Hawaii for $150 for both on there. So I was just wondering how cheap you got and if it really is to good to be true?
Answer: Well since i work for an airline, i pay nothing. But if i had to buy a ticket the cheapest would be $1.00.
In Hawaii there is a new low cost air carrier called go!. They have everyday low fares of $39.00 with specials that bring the tickets down to $29,$19,$9 and yes even $1.
Checkout their website www.iflygo.com
Question: Question for people familiar with airline tickets? I want to buy some tickets for Hawaii, because they're only 300 bucks round trip right now, but I don't get paid till next week. Do you think the prices will change by then?
Don't have a credit card! Have bad credit.
Answer: I have seen stability in prices recently when I got airline tickets that I had never seen before. Tickets didn't change prices over a matter of ten days or so. I got what I needed about a week before flying at the same price it had been about 2 weeks before.
Depends on a variety of factors, naturally, but it's not like it used to be. Airlines must be hurting.
Good luck.
Question: how much does it cost for 2 tickets from maryland to paris? maryland to hawaii? i want to go to paris or hawaii and i dont know how to find the right airline and i want the best price
Answer: Try http://Luxe.worldventures.com They search all the other main sites like Orbitz, Expedia, Travelocity, hotel and airline sites and offer you the lowest price. You’ll save even more when you book it as a package like air and hotel together. Question: what airline is cheapest from honolulu to thailand ? im thinking of planning a trip to thailand sometime in the next few months ... from honolulu hawaii... but i checked on expedia and a few other sites...cheapest flights i found were like $1000 !!!! sounds expensive, there's got to be a cheaper way to go!!!!!!!!
i've been there once before, years ago...almost 10.... what's changed since? is it terribly more expensive than it was back then because it was dirt cheap back then! stayed in bangkok for about 4 days and then road a bus down to pattaya beach for about a week.... it was awesome but i missed out on so many things !!! i was super young and kinda nervous.....
any suggestions would be great !!!!!!!! and what to expect price wise! !!!
thanks in advance
Answer: I've done alot of research on that since I'm planning a trip to Bangkok from Honolulu in November. The cheapest and fastest flight is China Airlines.Their flight leaves Honolulu at 7:20 AM and makes a connection in Taipei.Arrives in Bangkok at 4:30PM.Much better than those late night arrivals.Fares are approximately $812 including tax and fees.Total travel time is 15 hours including connections.
The baht is much stronger against the dollar now,31.7 baht to the dollar as of today. However,it is still very cheap, relatively speaking.I'm married to a Thai so go there every few years.Enjoy your trip...don't be nervous. The Thais are great people.
Question: Is booking airfare in December or January cheaper- going to Hawaii in March? I have been cking all the travel sites, orbitz, expedia, cheaptickets and several airline sites. Anyway, I noticed the price jump like 25.00 since December 1st hit- anyone know if the prices will drop after the holidays even though my trip is in March? Help- on a budget!
not going during spring break week
Answer: March tends to be a little cheaper. December and January the flights and hotels are filled with tourist, so the prices will be higher. Book at least 30 days out. Hawaiian Airlines runs good fares (229.00 round trip from LA to Honolulu). Also try Aloha Airlines. Eventhough you did not mention it, October is also a slow month for them and prices will be cheap then too.
Question: airline ticket help please? my family and i are flying out to hawaii for vacation in march and my fiance couldnt find out from work early enough when we booked our tickets so we didn't book a ticket for him...he just recently found out he is able to go and ticket prices are readiculous...does anyone have any suggestions or know where you can get cheap airline tickets?
Answer: I would try kayak.com i use it all the time and who knows you might find a last minute deal.....also go to southwest.com they run alot of internet specials
Question: Best place for airline tickets? Decent airlines? My boyfriend is going to be visiting me in July for three weeks. He is going from Hawaii (HNL) to Connecticut (BDL). Of course, he didn't listen to me a few months ago when I said to buy his ticket. Rather, he waited until this week to start looking and he's flipping out that the average cost for a round trip ticket is $1200. A few months ago tickets were about $800/$900.
So, where is the best place online to find tickets on the cheaper side? I've been trying to look but most prices are about the same.
And, what is a decent airline? I've only flown from Connecticut to Florida and back a few times (about a two hour flight) and I've gone on Southwest. I didn't mind them too much, but I was only on the plane for a little while. He's going to be traveling for about a whole day (changing flights twice), and in the air for about 14 hours.
Thank you so much for your help. If I can't find a cheap enough flight, he might now be able to visit me until next summer. =(
Answer: Since your boyfriend is traveling during the peak season, air tickets will not be cheap. I would check out the travel websites and then go to the airline's website that offers the cheapest ticket. Airlines do not like you buying your ticket from a travel website because they have to pay the travel website a commission. Therefore sometimes you will find airfare that is cheaper on the airline website than the travel website.
Depending on how flexible you or he is, I would check surrounding airports to see if you can find a better price. For example, look into prices for flying into Providence, RI or New York JFK. We used to live in Fairfield County in CT so we flew out of JFK on our trip to Hawaii. White Plains also has an airport.
Question: Would you use Priceline's "Name You Own Price" deal to book 2 round-trip tickets to Hawaii for your honeymoon? not knowing what airline you would fly on, what time of day you would leave or return, or if you could sit by your new husband/wife on the flight?
Answer: nope. use www.farecast.com. it tells you when the best time is to buy tickets. priceline doesn't really give good deals anymore, not even when you name your own price.
Question: What's the best way to buy roundtrip tickets to the Philippines from Hawaii? My wife and I are planning on going to the Philippines this December. We live in Hawaii, so that will at least cut down on some of the cost rather than leaving from the mainland. We're planning on using Hawaiian Airlines. These are some of our questions:
1. Are tickets generally cheaper the earlier you buy them, or should we wait?
2. Are tickets generally cheaper when you buy them together (2 at the same time) or separate?
Hawaiian Airlines only displays flights 330 days in advance. We're planning on leaving at the beginning of December (which already shows up on their schedule), and coming back at the beginning of January (which DO NOT yet show up on their schedule). Right now, their early ticket prices in December keep fluctuating.
3. Is this common, or do prices typically fluctuate often?
4. Any other tips on finding cheap airline tickets to the Philippines?
Thanks!
Actually, Hawaiian Airlines does fly to the Philippines.
Answer: 1. Are tickets generally cheaper the earlier you buy them, or should we wait?
NO. The algorithm built into the airline reservation system is exttremely compicated and takes into account many factors such as supply and demand, competitor pricing and custom rules which all weigh in on determining final fare prices that can be oferred to you.
Absolutely not. As a matter of fact, buying so far out may actually guarantee you'll pay too much for a ticket. It's because buying months out, the ticketing system is still operating on the assumption that the flight can be filled by the time the flight departs, so there's no incentive to discount the fare prices. Conversely, the best prices in some cases would be last-minute fares on unpopular flights, when the automated system recognizes that it is highly unlikely the last few tickets will be sold at the current pricing levels--so it may begin dropping the fare until someone bites.
3. Is this common, or do prices typically fluctuate often?
Very often. Fare prices are recalculated hundreds of time in milliseconds or ad hoc as requested.
4. Any other tips on finding cheap airline tickets to the Philippines?
Just check the prices on all airlines flying the route you want DAILY and look for patterns indicating a bottom in terms of fares--that's when you pull the trigger and buy it.
