California To Hawaii Cruises
Question: How long does it take to cruise from California to Hawaii? I live in the east, so I am thinking I would have to fly to California and then cruise to Hawaii. I have made the flight many times, however, how long would the cruise take?

Question: What cruises depart from California to Hawaii and when? I need it for summer vacation :)
Answer: As far as I know there are no summer cruises from California to Hawaii. There are Fall, Winter, and Spring round trips from LA to Hawaii on Princess. The ship goes to Alaska in the Summer.

Question: Is there a boat that sails from california to hawaii? But not a cruise ship.?
Answer: Yes there are many freighters that make that trip.
Question: How do I get from California to Hawaii? I don't wanna pay a billion dollars for a cruise I don't want to go on, and I don't wanna fly. Isn't there a ferry, or any boats not flagged "Foriegn", or whatever? Apparently there's a law now that foriegn flagged ships can't go from us port to us port without stopping in a foriegn country, but are there any not flagged that I don't have to pay a million dollars for???? This is really important.
Answer: Flying is the quickest and can be as low as $300 if you plan right. Cruise ships usually stop in Mexico before heading to Hawaii and a cheap room would be around $300 and it includes all meals, again, you need to plan right. Get a job on a cruise and you go for free. Most cruise ships register in countries other than the US because of tax and cost benefits, very few to none register in the US, thus they are flagged outside of US.
By your statement I suppose you aren't allowed to leave the US (no passport, illegal, running from the law, etc.) and you have a fear of flying. If so, any legal boat will follow the identification and Coast Guard rules. Keep in mind that between Cali and Hawaii by boat you will leave US waters/territory so proper ID is needed, a US drivers license generally will work.
You only have three other options, 1) get a job (or sneak aboard) on a freighter, Matson sends regular ships to Hawaii from Long Beach and San Francisco. Usually at least two ships per week. 2) charter a private boat or volunteer as crew on a private boat going to Hawaii. This means a lot of talking and research down on the boat docks. If you appear to be clean and honest you may get a free ride minus your food. Try placing ads on boards at the yacht clubs, hard working crew (especially good galley cooks) can usually get a ride 3) Your final option is to swim, build your own raft, or float..
If money is the issue, you can get there for around $300 if you do your research, or free as crew on a boat. I used to fly first class for $300 LA to Hawaii.
Those are your options...
Question: I'm interested in taking a Hawaii cruise.? When is the best time to go weather wise?
When is the best time to go price wise?
Which is the best cruise line for hawaii?
Is it better to cruise from California or Hawaii?
I ask because I know it is a lot cheaper to fly to California than to Honalulu from NC.
We have been on 4 Caribbean cruises already and know quite a bit about cruising but would like to know about Hawaii, that is where we really want to go.
Answer: I believe that there is only one scheduled cruise from the US to Hawaii and back and I will be on it next week. It is a 2 week cruise on the Golden Princes and is only in the fall and winter. The other option is a Norwegian Cruise Lines ship that only goes between the islands (I believe all year) or a repositioning cruise from Vancouver or Ensenada or reverse which each line only has a couple of times a year. If there are other cruises I am sure to be corrected.
I chose Princess due to the length and the number of departures. I like the 8 days at sea. I am sure summer cruises are more expensive.

Question: travel from California to Hawaii by boat? i want to go on a trip to hawaii but airfare roundtrip is very expensive...i want to fly from ohio to california and take a boat of some sort to hawaii...but not a cruise or anything like that...is there any boats that ll do that? ferries? anything?
by the way i want to fly to california near christmas and return to ohio around the 7th of jan
Answer: The only boats to Hawaii are expensive cruise lines. You can wait for a good fare, but the time you want is high season here. Try Hawaiian Airlines from LA to Honolulu, and some other airline to LA.
Question: Charges caling from California to Hawaii? My friend is taking a cruise at Hawaii this entire week and i was wondering if it was roaming or long distant charges for me to call her?
Im using cingular, she has both verizon and cingular
Answer: Verizon cell to cell is free, T Mobile Fives Fav's is free and I don't know about any other companies. Call your provider they will tell you
Question: cheapest hawaii cruise...? hi...i was wondering if there was a cruise leaving from california to hawaii, any destinations is fine....something not too expenisve...royal carribean, celebrity, anything except princess....thanks so much in advance!!!!! = ]
Answer: If you just want a cruise leaving from California, Carnival, Royal Caribbean and NCL all offer cruises to Mexico leaving from Los Angeles. These cruises last three to eight nights.
Celebrity, Holland America Line and Carnival also offer cruises to Mexico from San Diego. These cruises last four to ten nights.
However, if you want to go to Hawaii and you don't want to go on Princess, then the cruise will leave from either Ensenada or Vancouver. These are repositioning cruises, meaning the ships are moving from the Caribbean to Alaska or back. Thus these cruises are offered in April and October.
The other Hawaiian cruises start and end in Hawaii. These cruises are offered by Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL). The best prices for these cruises can be had for the rest of this year. In 2008 one of the three ships that NCL has based in Hawaii will be moved to Europe. When that happens, there will be less ships based in Hawaii. Less supple means higher prices.
Otherwise, the only line that is offering regular round trip cruises to Hawaii from California (San Pedro - Los Angeles) is Princess.
Question: My wife & I plan on taking a cruse to Hawaii what cruise line is the best and what time of year is the best? Should we fly to Honolulu and then take the cruise or take a cruise out of California to our destination point.
Answer: The best thing to do would be to fly to Hawaii, and then ride a Norwegian Cruise Lines ship - the Norwegian Wind is a 10 day cruise between the Hawaiian islands, and it detours to a small island south of hawaii in international waters, so you would also need a passport. The other NCL ship is the "pride of america", which is a seven day cruise between the islands only, so you would not need a passport. In Honolulu, "Regal Travel" and "non-stop travel" both handle tickets for these cruises. They leave from Honolulu Harbor at Aloha Tower Marketplace.
Question: how long does it take to fly from long island, NY. to California ? I then want to take a cruise to Hawaii?
Answer: Approximately 5 hours if you have no stop overs. Depending on whether you get a tail wind, or not, it can even be a little under 5 hours. But the opposite is true on the return trip, where you usually get a head wind and it takes a little over 5 hours.
I have flown this many times, and it seems like there's always a tail wind when you fly west, but not always a head wind when you fly east.
It's not so bad, just bring a good book or magazne, grab a couple of those little pillows on your way to your seat, try to get a window seat so that you can either see out, or close the blind and rest your head against it. That is what I do, and I usually sleep through the whole flight.
The cruise should make the flight worth it!
