Romantic Hawaii Vacations
Question: Where in Hawaii should a couple go for a quiet romantic vacation?
Answer: Maui or Kuai, my husband and I honeymooned in Hawaii for two weeks. Kuai was beautiful with alot of lush scenery, Maui was beautiful with gorgeous beaches and scenery.
Question: I am wanting to go to Hawaii for my 10th anniversary. Where do I go? I have always wanted to go to Hawaii and I think we are actually going to go. There are so many places to go and so many different ways to do it. Do you recommend a cruise, island hopping, or just one island? I want a nice romantic vacation that is relaxing. This will be the first time away from our 3 girls in a while. What do you recommend?
Answer: I would recommend 2 weeks if you have the dough, especially if you're not sure you will be able to go back anytime soon. Do a 3 island trip of 5-5-4 days. You should fly to Maui spend 5 days there. Stay in Lahaina, it is on the dry side of the island but is where most of the locals are and is easy to get around the island from there. Go to the Old Lahaina Luau...book online it is often sold out weeks in advance. Take the road to Hana it is beautiful. Then go to the big island and see the active volcanoes and go to Kona Joe's coffee plantation and theMauna Loa macadamia nut plantations. Your final island should be Oahu. A trip to Pearl Harbor is moving. Make sure you are there on Wednesday or Saturday so you can go to the flea market at the aloha bowl. great bargains. Find Lin's market and eat some fresh pineapple in ground dried plum (yummy). Shave ice on any island is a treat. A day or two on the norht shore is awesome. You're biggest expense will be food. If you rent a condo you can save a few bucks and have breakfast in your room. There are many local stores to shop at. You will absolutely love the restful life there. My wife and I love it there. We're planning a return trip in 2 years. Aloha and have a great time.
Feel free to send me a message and I'll give you a few ways to save some money and some places to stay and when to go.
Question: what is the best island to visit in Hawaii? i want to go to hawaii for vacation and realized that there are many different islands in hawaii like, Kauai, Lanai, Maui, Molokai, Oahu, honolulu to name a few. which one has more attractions and activities? i dont want to go to the one that is all romantic for older couples.
Answer: Well i live in Hawaii (O'ahu to be exact). And O'ahu is the most populated island so as far as you wanting to experience more activities and what not O'ahu would be the place to go. Here you can visit the North Shore, which is known for its beautiful beaches and beautiful waves (they're pretty big). We have the infamous Waikiki, where a lot of tourist stay, and shop, there are a lot of hot night clubs also. The beaches in Waikiki are more on the calm side, but they are kind of crowded. Of course there is Pearl Harbor where you can take a tour of the memorial. You can also visit the Iolani Palace where Hawaii's last two monarchs ruled. This is the palace where the last Queen (Queen Lili'uokalani) was arrested and locked inside of her own room. Aside from O'ahu I've only visited Maui, and the Big Island, but i know for a fact that the neighbor islands are more on the country and scenic side. You might not want to go to Moloka'i for sure because you can drive from one coast to the other and end up seeing 3 cars (my friend visited). The island isn't big at all, and its not really a tourist spot . The Big Island (Hawai'i) has two volcanoes if you're interested in that, and one of them has lava flowing out at this moment. The Big Island is also the only place in Hawaii where you'll find snow (on top of the mountains). Maui has the largest dormant volcano on the earth called Halleakala (it has great sunsets). Its really beautiful once you reach the top (and also very cold). You'll be above the clouds, and you can also look inside of the volcano. Kauai is the romantic island so you might not want that.
Question: Which island is the best for a 4-days vacation in Hawaii? My boyfriend and I plan to go to Hawaii during mid-October for a 4-days trip. I've done a lot of researches yet I can't decide which island I should go to. We are looking for a somewhat romantic trip that doesn't include much sightseeing. We prefer being active at outdoor activities such as diving, snorkeling, laying/swimming near the beach, sailing... etc. So far I've come down to Big Island, Maui, and Oahu. Can you please give me some advice on which island I should pick and recommend me some activies that I definitely cannot miss? Also, if possible, let me know which hotel comes with a beach that we can actually swim. I gotta have this trip plan out as soon as possible, please help~~!!
Answer: That's a huge question, and would require a huge answer. And depends on a lot of things like your interests and budget.
That said, here's what our family and friends do before they come to visit. We built a web page with the best links and things to do in Hawaii, rated and reviewed. That way they could look BEFORE they got here and see what they want to do. Our 4-star rated items may be a good place to start for those "don't miss" things.
Our family's going to Kauai next...that island's famous for not having much nightlife and the like, but is gorgeous and romantic. Of course there's beach access and water activities like you mentioned. If you go to Maui, our web page has a link to a page that shows aerial pictures of the island's resorts, so you can see them before you go. If you go to Oahu, and money's no problem...since you want to get off the beaten path...consider Ko Olina resort. Four wonderful lagoons, but close enough to Honolulu that you can get there and back for dinner and other activities. Also look at Turtle Bay on the North Shore. Definitely remote, and while it does have nice beaches of it's own, it's also close to the other North Shore beaches.
The page is at http://home.hawaii.rr.com/gonebananas. Could go into a longer answer here, but with all the work we put into that page, well, you'll see...it will answer your questions.

Question: Where should my boyfriend and I go in Hawaii? We are going on a vacation together in a couple of weeks and are trying to plan it. Which island should we go to? We are looking for beautiful, somewhat secluded beaches with the light blue water and the whole tropical essence! I keep switching islands that I like because I cant seem to find one that is just right. We are not going for a party trip but are looking for more of the romantic, beautiful and more private aspects of Hawaii where there aren't loads of people everywhere. We are not on much of a budget so we want to go all out. Any suggestions?
Answer: Oahu has the biggest tourist areas- Waikiki, Diamond Head, Pearl Harbor, etc. But it also has some more secluded areas. On the windward side, Kailua and Lanikai are more of suburb areas and offer some of the best beaches in the world. The north shore is even more secluded.
Maui and the Big Island both have some big tourist attractions, but are more secluded than Oahu. Lahaina (on Maui) is a great little town, and Sunrise on Haleakala is a stunner. The Big Island has active volcanos, kona coffee and mac nut plantations.
If you want truly secluded, Kauai might be your best bet. But you might want to fly into either Oahu, Maui, or The Big Island- spend a few days there, then fly to Kauai for a couple of days. Flights between the islands are relatively cheap.
HAVE FUN!! Hawaii is wonderful!
Question: Romantic vacation ideas, but no where tropical? Looking for some ideas of where to go this summer for vacation with my BF, but he is not a big fan of the beach, so nowhere like Hawaii, Bermuda etc. Looking for some good ideas!!! Very willing to travel too :)
Answer: try alaska haha. you two can watch the northern lights together..imagine that..just him holding you and you to making out and being all cuddly and happy watching nature and science work marvelous beauties in the sky.
and you can see polar bears!!!
even try out this thing called the "polar bear plunge" in which..participants (usually not many) will jump into the water for a min and then they get a t-shirt. lol. pretty gutsy if you ask me.!!
no beach there so when it gets cold, you two can snuggle up with each other.
JUST an idea.
Question: Best destination and resort in Hawaii?? I'm looking to plan a romantic vacation for my boyfriend and I in 2007 in Hawaii. However, I know nothing about the place all Ive heard is that its expensive. Anyhow, I'd like to know what is the best island to visit and the best resort to stay in. Also, what is the best time of year to visit. Thanks!
Answer: Hawaii is the kind of place that you really have to splurge a little. Going to the West Coast of Maui will give you the best bang for your buck. Check out a place called Kapalua Villas. They can run around 200/day but you wont believe how much you get that for price. The Villas are huge and you have acess to 3 differant resorts including the Ritz , which is right next door. The beach there has the best snorkiling in the world. If you can swing the 200-250 a night it will be very much worth it to you.
Lahaina and Kanapali beachs are right down the road and there are alot of things to do there, including nightlife and great places to eat.
Question: Vacation in Hawaii? Where to go? My boyfriend and I are planning on going to Hawaii for a vacation in April and are unsure of where in Hawaii we should go. I know each island has something special about it but am not sure which is the best.
We want to avoid the extreme tourism but also don't want an area where there is nothing to do. Any suggestions of the most romantic, fun, but uncrowded areas? Thanks!
Answer: My personal favorite is the Big Island.
1st you can avoid going thru Honolulu if you want to avoid the crowds(regular flights go to Kailua-Kona airport, on the west side of the island)
the west side of the island is more volcanic(kind of like the desert, but next to the sea(very good weather)all of the east side of the island is like a rain forest.
places you can go: Kilauea volcano, Muana Loa Observatory, countless beaches and waterfalls
it is probably one of the 2 least touristy islands(the other one being Kauai)
Question: We want to go to Hawaii for 5 nights, where should we stay, and do? This would be a romantic vacation for my husband and I, we want to stay somewhere comfortable, but doesn't have to be luxurious. Close to the beach or on the beach would be nice. we want to do as much stuff as we can in the short amount of time we have. We've never been so I need island suggestion, and hotel and activities. Thanks!!!
early June 2008
Answer: check out the hilton hawaiian village on oahu or the marriott wailea on maui. both are fantastic. if you do oahu, don't miss pearl harbor and diamond head mountain and waikiki beach (which the hotel is on). on maui don't miss the road to hana and mount haliakala volcano crater. and to cut through the deals, you should check out http://www.travelcusehotels.com to book your trip. the site is an aggregator which means it takes offers from various online sites and shows you the best deals. good luck!
